Charming Stay
This hotel has a lot of charm It is very old (1800's) with a long history of survival. If you like historic buildings, this is the place to stay. There have been many owners with colourful histories, and many coats of paint over the years. The floors are a bit uneven; the decor is antique. It is very quaint and in the middle of Cedar Island's downtown. Once we got there, we never got in the car again till we left. We had a lovely, elegant meal at their restaurant and also spend time in their historic Neptune Bar (a favorite hangout for locals and tourists) as well as outside on the large patio with live entertainment!
We stayed in room 33 but we found the bed a bit soft for our liking. We moved to room 27 on the 3rd night and found it much better.
Staff were all friendly and efficient.

We were only there overnight, but everything was wonderful. Everything was clean (kudos to the cleaning crew - how do you keep such an old place so clean!!) everyone we spoke to were funny, friendly, helpful. Ate dinner in the restaurant and it was great and service fantastic. So glad to see the town healing!

Relaxing, Comfortable Stay
My husband and I recently spent two wonderful nights at the historic Island Hotel! Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the room temperature was good for us. The antiques throughout the room and common areas were beautiful! Our room had a queen bed and the bathroom had a step in shower. WiFi worked great. There are no phones or tv’s, which was fine with us. The history of the building and its part in Cedar Key is a great subject to explore! The Neptune bar is located inside the hotel, as well as a restaurant serving delicious food for dinner on certain nights. The second story balcony is available for hotel guests and provides several seating options for hanging out or viewing the amazing sunsets! If the uneven floorboards and lack of tv’s is not for you, you can at least enjoy a drink in the bar or a special dinner in the dining room that has been refurbished to look much like it did in the forties!
